Childcare Vouchers
Childcare has become a very expensive service and is now a real concern for working parents. Supporting your employees with the costs of childcare can be considered as a key measure of your attitude towards working parents and an indication of your commitment to your staff. Tax efficient and popular with employees and employers alike, it's no wonder that childcare vouchers schemes are becoming commonplace.
You can provide your employees with childcare vouchers free of tax and NIC up to a limit of £55 per week (£243 per month / £2,916 per year). The vouchers are then used to assist with the cost of qualifying childcare (ranging from nurseries to out of school clubs). A common way of introducing these vouchers is via a salary sacrifice arrangement, which can result in savings for both employee (up to £1,195 per annum) and employer (£373 per annum per employee).
